"The ophthalmic nerve passes through the cavernous sinus and its nasociliary branch exits the skull through the superior orbital fissure."

This is the sentence I have removed from the introductory paragraph. It doesn't make sense. If you look at picture from Gray's here on the article, it shows that it is CNV1 itself that passes through the SOF, not a branch. Also, "exiting the skull" is somewhat misleading without specifying that it is entering the orbit. If someone wants to polish this up, go ahead. I may have more time after National Boards are over.
